Step by step
- Diaper change, bath, getting dressed, or feeding.
- Before each move, say what's coming next ("I'm going to lift your legs").
- Name body parts and objects as you go, using clear and specific words.
- Pause for a few seconds after speaking while looking right at your baby.
- Echo their sounds back to them ("aaah? aaah!") like a real back-and-forth chat.
- Keep doing this during every routine: consistency does all the work, not one big effort.
