Clip Cards
Question cards to solve using a clothes peg: in the middle, three apples to count or an animal to spot; around the edges, possible answers. Clip the peg onto the right one, then check the sticker hidden on the back to see if you got it right.

Step by step
- Print out question cards (3 apples, a colour, an animal) with 3 or 4 answers around the edges, and stick a dot sticker on the back behind the right answer.
- Show how to squeeze the clothes peg open and clip it onto an answer.
- Do the first two cards together, talking it through out loud ("Let's count: one, two, three...").
- Let your child work through the rest of the cards on their own.
- Is the peg on the sticker? Mistakes are obvious right away, no need to lecture.
- Switch to new sets (counting up to 6, letters of their name) once they've mastered the first one.
