Large printed photos of familiar faces: Daddy, Grandma, big sister, favourite cuddly toy. Look at them together, name them, give them kisses, play "where's Daddy?", and stick a few at baby's eye level near their playmat or crib.

Step by step

  1. Print photos of loved ones and their favourite cuddly toy in A5 or A4 size, on thick paper if possible.
  2. Look through the cards one by one with your baby, warmly naming each person ("Look, it's Grandma!").
  3. Ask "Where's Daddy?" and let baby stare at, tap, or grab the right card.
  4. Kiss the photos and make them "talk" using each person's voice.
  5. Stick a few cards at baby's eye level, right by their playmat or crib.
  6. Come back to the photos before naptime or goodbyes: "Daddy is still here, he'll be right back."
