Freeze Tag and Its Variations
The classic playground favorite: the tagger tags you, you freeze like a statue, and a teammate frees you by crawling under your arms. Here, you talk through the rules together before starting, let the kids explain them in their own words, tweak them as you go, and switch taggers every three minutes.

Step by step
- Set boundaries together for the play area and pick a safe zone if needed.
- If the tagger touches you, freeze like a statue; a friend unfreezes you by crawling under your arms.
- Have each child explain one rule in their own words before jumping in.
- Keep a gentle eye on things and switch taggers every 3 to 4 minutes. If a little one is hesitant to be 'it', don't force it—pairing them up with an older kid works wonders.
- Chat and adjust anything that isn't working (play area too big? unfreezing too tricky?).
- Wind down with a calm moment (slow walking, deep breaths), and vote on a fun new twist for next time.
