Peekaboo Flap Card

A simple lift-the-flap card: a little paper flap hiding a friendly face or animal waiting for a big "PEEKABOO!". You lift it first, but baby will quickly take over, opening and closing the flap again and again to their heart's content.

Step by step

  1. Fold a sheet of paper to create a lift-up flap and place a bold picture underneath (a face or an animal).
  2. Sit down with baby and place the card in front of them with the flap closed.
  3. Use a curious voice to ask, "Where is the cat?" while gently tapping the flap.
  4. Slowly lift the flap ("PEEKABOO!") and enjoy their reaction.
  5. Guide baby's fingers to the flap and let them open and close it as many times as they like. If they rip it off in pure excitement, you can fold a new one in thirty seconds.
  6. Make a few more surprise cards with different hidden pictures.
