Fold-and-Draw Monsters

A secret drawing game: fold a sheet of paper into three parts, and everyone draws without peeking at the rest—first the head, then the body, then the legs. Unfold together, and a wacky half-princess, half-dinosaur creature appears! All that's left is to give it a name and invent its story.

Step by step

  1. Fold paper sheets into three sections, and give a pencil to each player.
  2. Everyone draws WITHOUT showing, then folds to hide their drawing.
  3. Draw a head, extend two little neck lines just past the fold, fold it back, and pass it to your neighbor.
  4. Draw the body (with little guide lines past the fold), then the legs and feet.
  5. Unfold together on the count of three: giggles guaranteed as the funny creatures appear.
  6. Give each monster a name, invent its life, hang up a mini gallery, or try 4 sections for older kids.
