Step by step

  1. Print out paper strips with a thick line and make a small starter snip on each one.
  2. Sit at a clear table with a "confetti envelope" ready right next to you.
  3. One hand holds the paper, the other pulls gently FOLLOWING the line.
  4. Let your child tear strip after strip; if they start ripping wildly, show them the gentle motion again calmly instead of correcting with words.
  5. Slide the torn pieces into the envelope for future play (paper balls, party confetti).
  6. Try wavy lines, then broad shapes to tear out, then thicker paper.
