High-Contrast Cards
Bold black-and-white cards with checkerboards, circles, and stripes. Held 25–30 cm from baby's face, they catch their eye right away; moved slowly, they encourage visual tracking. You can also place a few around the play mat.

Step by step
- Print 8 to 10 A5 cards with high-contrast black-and-white patterns (checkerboards, circles, stripes).
- Pick a calm, alert moment with baby on their back or well supported in a semi-sitting position.
- Hold one card still, about 25–30 cm from their face, and let them focus on it.
- Move the card very slowly from left to right so their eyes can follow it.
- Switch cards when baby looks away; 3 to 5 minutes is plenty.
- Place a few cards around the play mat and by the changing table, swapping them out every week.
