Step by step

  1. Dustpan and brush, cleaning cloths, and a small water spray bottle, kept at their height in a dedicated basket.
  2. Introduce each tool by showing ONE move slowly (sweeping into the pan, wiping in circles), just once.
  3. After meals (their spot), after an activity (their table), on Saturdays (their shelf).
  4. Let them do the whole process, from the first wipe to putting the kit away, without redoing it in front of them.
  5. Never punitive, always about 'caring for our space'—tidy YOUR own zone at the same time.
  6. Take turns looking after a shared room, noticing what needs a little care.
