Step by step

  1. Print the illustrated skills chart and pick 8 to 10 everyday tasks together.
  2. Your child checks off or sticks a star on what they ALREADY can do; always start with their strengths.
  3. Just one at a time.
  4. Create opportunities to try without stepping in to do it for them.
  5. Once it's mastered, your child ticks it off themselves: they get to decide when they know how to do it.
  6. Look back at all their progress ("look at everything you've learned!") and pick the next challenge.
