Step by step

  1. Print the nature picture pairs and cut them out with your child.
  2. Lay 4 pairs FACE UP, matching them as you name each picture.
  3. Turn the cards face down in neat rows.
  4. Flip two cards and NAME the pictures out loud; find a match and go again. If they get frustrated by missing, use fewer pairs next time.
  5. Share your strategy out loud ("I remember the mushroom was over here...") to show how you remember.
  6. Hunt for a real oak leaf or a ladybug; build up to 10 pairs.
