Hand-to-Hand Toy Pass

A quick, playful game with two rattles: baby holds one, and you offer the second on the very same side. To grab the new toy, they need to swap the first one into their other hand. A few tries on each side, and you're done.

Step by step

  1. Pick two lightweight, high-contrast rattles that are easy to grip.
  2. Lay or sit baby down facing you during a calm moment.
  3. Hand them the first rattle and let them get a good hold on it.
  4. Offer the second rattle on the same side as the busy hand, then wait without rushing them. If they just drop the first one, no big deal: try again another day, the swap will click soon.
  5. When they pass the rattle from one hand to the other to grab the new one, celebrate with a big smile.
  6. Repeat 3 or 4 times, switching sides, then let them play freely with both.
