Step by step

  1. Print and cut out the three card sets (characters, places, objects), then stack them into three face-down piles.
  2. Start with an opening line ("Once upon a time..."), or grab a cozy storytelling cushion or candle if you like.
  3. Have your child draw one card from each pile and reveal them one by one.
  4. Kick off the story by weaving in the first card.
  5. Hand over to your child. If they get stuck, prompt them gently ("And then what does the pirate find?") without taking over the tale.
  6. Wrap up the ending together, then ask to hear their favorite story again another day—or record it so you can listen back.
