Step by step

  1. Diaper change, bath, getting dressed, or feeding.
  2. Before each move, say what's coming next ("I'm going to lift your legs").
  3. Name body parts and objects as you go, using clear and specific words.
  4. Pause for a few seconds after speaking while looking right at your baby.
  5. Echo their sounds back to them ("aaah? aaah!") like a real back-and-forth chat.
  6. Keep doing this during every routine: consistency does all the work, not one big effort.
